Movie Afternoon

Halo
I spent the majority of my day basically watching movies. Not sitting at home in front of the TV, but wandering around a local cinema watching movies. Basically, it was giving someone else a chance to have some time alone at the house besides myself. I'm not sure how much time alone was actually gotten, but I hope it was good.

I watched Madagascar, Star Wars III, and Batman Begins.

What I notice is that all three were really about making choices, and the consequences that go along with those choices. They were all about taking your own personal power, and choosing what to do with it.

Sometimes life kicks you in the teeth. Sometimes it happens a lot. But you still have power - even when you feel the most powerless. Your power is choice - and no one, and I do mean NO ONE can take that away from you. You can only give it away, by either choosing to do nothing, or refusing to make any choice whatsoever.

There's more about this running around in my head, but I'm still working through it.

And yes, to my beloveds, I see teaching in every story - whether one I read or one I see. And I will continue to learn from everything around me. But I realize sometimes people want to just "enjoy the story."
